Thanos didn’t commit genocide

Post Body

Genocide isn’t just when you kill a lot of people — it’s when you specifically target a national, ethnical, racial or religious group and you try to destroy them. Some argue that merely aiming to cripple a group is enough for genocide but the UN defines genocide as certain crimes against a group with the intent to cause their destruction.

Thanos was actually trying to save humanity. His intent wasn’t destruction of a species it was to save them. And on top of that he didn’t target any national, ethnical, racial or religious group — people died randomly.

He just committed mass murder. NOT genocide.
