Just an idea: Perhaps include Odin Marks within X-Defense as a scaling end-reward?

A post here a few days back had people throwing around ideas after word got out that kills within X-Defense would no longer work toward achieving legendary quest (LQ) requirements.

I had posted an idea that garnered some positive feedback, but it was tucked underneath a pretty heavily downvoted reply, so it may have been overlooked by most. I figured I'd post the idea here!

Instead of allowing players to register kills toward the LQs in X-Defense, and instead of creating X-Defense LQs that people would just endlessly try to re-roll, why not include Odin Marks as a possible reward from the end-chest in X-Defense, with the maximum amount scaling with how far the group has gotten?

For example:

  • Reach Wave 10 = 1 Odin Mark
  • Reach Wave 15 = 2 Odin Marks
  • Reach Wave 20 = 3 Odin Marks
  • Reach Wave 25 = 4 Odin Marks

These would be the maximum amounts, meaning at wave 15, you could still get only 1, or 0 if the developers felt like making it simply a chance. This would also only begin in the 20-29 X-Defense, when LQs open up.

This would permit those of us who are a bit exhausted with grinding LQs to do something else for a chance at some Odin marks, while still making LQs ultimately faster at achieving those marks. This would additionally provide further incentive to stay for the entire round, and make those final rewards within that last chest even more desirable.

A similar system could be thrown into Holo Sim as well.

Thoughts? Changes? Discuss! It's just an idea, I've not thoroughly thought out balance and whatnot, so I figured that's where you could all chime in.

Edit: Seems like a lot of the complaints are stemming from the fact that X-Defense offers too much incentive already. What about the creation of another X-Defense/HoloSim-like experience that offers Odin Marks in place of the better experience, uniques, and runes that X-Defense offers? In other words, make a new scaling survival-type game mode with Odin Marks as the reward with much lower chances at the other stuff. The primary issue for me is that the LQs get tedious, whereas X-Defnese and Holo Sim are a little more fun with their scaling difficulty.
