What I understand as a DOT is a skill that has (or doesn't have to have) an initial damage value and includes a 'bleed'. Bleed being damae that ticks even while you use other skills.
What I think everyone is talking about here when they say DOT is basically a combo or chained skill. Instead of an initial damage value and a series of ticks of a bleed there's a set of roughly equal hits. The DOT also locks the hero in that skill for a certain amount of time or hits before you can use another skill. Is this an accurate description of these soon to be diminished DOTs?
In this case Damage Over Time isn't 'wrong' but it ain't quite the same as a bleed, the traditional 'dot'. I think they deserve a different name to separate them from bleeds.
I tend to obsess over what I don't entirely understand or is confusing to me. On that note, bonus question: Why do they call them 'chase' costumes? Because we're all 'chasing' them? Because they were sponsored by Chase Bank? Because Chevy Chase picked them?
Thanks!
