Tips on 'unfucking' a boss?

...what? sometimes I like to curse.
I have a lvl 25 hawkeye and more than once I've entered an instance and got to the end to find a missing boss. Anyone know how best to handle this? I tried using the transport pads to go to other places and come back but that didn't work. This is a touch frustrating, thanks!
