In artwork, I often see warriors and others carrying more than one spear at a time, generally javelins, in the same hand with which they grip a shield handle.
But how would this be possible? Is there a special grip? Maybe through the fingers?
Zulu warriors may have done something like this, although they used very narrow short spears. Does anyone know how exactly they gripped them?
Greek peltasts carried multiple javelins in their shielded hand, but they had the shield strapped to their forearm.
What if you donβt have a strap?
