I just started doing Taekwondo earlier this year (February) and I love it. I'm not too familiar with anatomy or injuries and such so I hope I explain this well and describe everything accurately. I also realize I should see a doctor and I am. I have appointments booked and such, I'm just seeking advice from people who may have been down this route or are more knowledgeable.
Over the past year, my kneecap has popped back out and back into place. I heard and read that this is a patellar subluxation? It's not good when this happens, all's I know.
It happened a couple weeks ago when we were practicing roundhouse kicks. My left kneecap went out of place and back in (dislocation? subluxation?) and I've been a little sore since. I don't feel pain and can walk around but I still feel the effects of it. As mentioned, I am getting it checked out and such. I am currently not wearing a knee brace but my instructor instructed that I get one.
Does anyone have any expertise on this? Anything I should know? Should I attend class like this or wait till it's fully healed?
