Recently i joined the muay thai class at the local gym, itโs been lots of fun and helpijg me get in shape. But ive been a bit confused if we are really training muay thai or kickboxing trying to pose as muay thai. 1- The instructor wears a WAKO shirt during classes. 2- I was told muay thai dosent have any dodging, yet we are training dodging. 3- The kicks seem to be too high, no leg kicks yet. 4- Our guard seem to be much closer to boxing than from what i have seem from muay thai fighters. 5- No elbows yet, only knees at this point. I donโt plan quitting the classes whatever the answer may be, as it goes for free with my gym plan and it fits my schedule, also, they do sparr. Sorry for any bad english.
