I am platinum. I usually message the hotel on app and ask for upgrade day of checkin. I’m super nice, etc. often times I’m upgraded, sometimes I’m not.
When I’m not, sometimes on the Marriott website, I can see upgrades are available at time of check-in (higher room types are available) for the duration of my stay but when i mention that they tell me they’re not available. I don’t push anymore after this, because I figure that having mentioned what the website shows is pushing enough.
Why is this? Is there anything I can do to push back kindly but not get a bad reputation with the front desk? Am I misunderstanding something?
