So my wife and I were married at 21 and we had kids when we were 24. For the first 3 years we were married we had sex 3 times a day and were very intimate all the time. I was so happy and loved my wife. We were best friends. Then we had kids and all intimacy stopped. I knew it would have an effect but didn’t realize to this extent. We had our second child 2 years later. I just figured things would improve over time. I tried everything to get her in the mood, flowers and flirty texts, but nothing really worked. Sex seemed to be more of a chore. By the time our kids were teens I went to a therapist myself as my wife refused to. In the end the therapist said to try to cope with it or move on. I decided to deal with it. She knows I am unhappy with our sex life. My kids are now grown and married but intimacy never returned. I have never cheated on my wife but after 27 years I have had to take care of myself if you know what I mean. I am 49 now and have been thinking of finding someone to fulfill my needs. I don’t really want to but I am not happy that my wife has put me in this position. I love my wife. She is a good person and was an amazing mother. She is just not very interested in me.
