Someone on this sub offering to be a mentor told me they charge for their time. An insane amount of money, actually. That's not how this works. I am new to marketing but have more than a decade of professional experience. Mentors don't charge a dime. They do it because they find it rewarding to help someone new or inexperienced. While there are professions that charge for certain advice (career coaches, consultants, etc.), those people usually offer some kind of specific knowledge or advice in exchange for a rate. Even then, you need to know what you're looking for and temper your expectations. But you should never pay for a mentor.
