I am a music artist, I shoot small productions and host songwriting camps. Over the last year, I've been much more collaborative with my efforts in trying to find better people to work with. I've looked for things like photographers, creative directors, actors, and musicians to join my camps/content shoots/concerts and almost none of it has worked at all. I have tried putting flyers up around the city (Atlanta), on my college campus (the same way I've found some great work) targeted toward students who take classes in certain areas, and contacting people in my network to see who they know.
I get very minimal response like radio silence on flyers, I don't think I've ever been hit up through one of my flyers.
Contacting my network has landed me some leads but everyone says "ok" or something along the lines of "This is a great idea!" and then I never hear from them about it. Someone even asked if I wanted them to post it, I said yes and they just don't do it. I also hate to be bugging people all the time to post my stuff when they show me they don't want to.
I'm here to ask what the hell am I doing wrong?? I am stepping up my content to see if doing commercials for things can work with ads but I don't know what else to do. I have fun pitching things and putting up flyers, and doing marketing tasks but none of it works so I just don't know what else to do to fill up these events... Open to any ideas or criticisms.
