I'm currently in the middle of having something manufactured by plastic injection molding, so won't do this too soon but I like to plan ahead. My next item I want to have made would likely be done by a rope/cording manufacturer. Am I correct in assuming that the design process for that is a lot simpler than designing for injection molding? Can someone give me a high level description of working with rope/cording manufacturing?
(And yes, I checked potential suppliers for the thing I want made, as well as Alibaba.) Next to nobody makes this specific item. (Apparently one does, seemingly a hand-crafter, but I buy them through a 3rd party who won't reveal his source for obvious reasons. But they take a long time to make and have extremely limited colors and options, which is why I'm thinking of doing it myself.)
