How easy is it to breed fruit flies? (Flightless fruit fly colony)

Currently purchased fruit fly colony and have put them in a 10-ish inch tall jar with an apple slice and the thing they need to lay eggs into that comes with the colony on the bottom, my room is roughly 10°C and I live in the UK so it's not gonna get warmer till April, how easy will it be for me to breed them?
