Looking for an old manga

This old manga appeared in shonen jump about a decade ago. Fantasy and magic based. Greedy/miser wizard guy only learned fireball, wants to find the tree of life. He finds a piece of it at one point and it turns his level one fireball into a lvl 50. His friend is a dumb warrior who spends all his money on a sentient sword that only says a silly catch phrase and doesnt really have magic powers. I believe a dungeon was part of this as well. Any help would be appreciated.
