Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might learn Martin Carthy's mandolin piece in this video?

I can make out some of the melody, but I am struggling a bit. Does anyone have any advice about how they'd go about learning a piece like this? I'm especially having trouble making out what's being played alongside the fiddle and vocals.
