Ok a little background, I work for a small oil change and mechanical shop. I have been fortunate to have a reliable and respectful crew. I only expect professional behavior in an open customer service environment and for us to move cars out at a good pace. We have hired a couple of guys that on paper hit all marks with percentage but we struggle with getting them to accept feedback and if they are asked to do basically anything that they aren't already doing they push back. I will absolutely not have any of my guys argue with me about me asking them to do what we hired them to do in front of our customers that is not at all professional. We would normally just cut the guys day right then and have a meeting the next day about behavior. My direct boss is the store manager and he wants me to treat them differently than the rest of my crew(all of which I trained and hold to the mark) so I am stuck at how to deal with this mess. It will most likely happen again and I am not sure how I should handle it. Any advice would be appreciated.
