No replies expected. I am so fed up of this patronizing training. While I understand there are dickheads who need it, I doubt they are going to change because of it. For the rest of us, it is a legally imposed drudgery in the state of CA that treats adults as babies. Some glaringly obvious points from the training:
- Pay attention to the words, actions and reactions of those around you
-Treat everyone with the same respect, regardless of any protected characteristic, job title or position
-Monitoring your own behavior doesn’t mean stopping all jokes and casual conversations.
- Is it OK or not OK?
- Offering to shake hands with a client after a meeting
- Sharing stories and intimate details about your dating life with a co-worker in the break room
A Manager’s Role
- Cooperate with investigations, including when they are personally accused of harassment
- Model appropriate workplace behavior and never abuse their authority
Chose yes or no.
- Ava’s manager excludes her from important meetings because she made a harassment complaint. Is this retaliation?
- When considering whether conduct could be harassment, whose perspective is important to consider? Only the alleged harasser
Thanks to this training, I acquired such valuble soft skills that my 20 years of job, and 45 years of existance as a human never taught. Gee, am I enlightened! /s
