What type of rug to use for a Living/TV room space

Hey.

I live in an open plan unit, would like a rug for an area dedicated to a small home theatre space (basically rug between TV and sofa to hide speaker cables and maybe absorb some sound reflection). Often eat in front of the TV so looking for something that's easy to keep clean (ideally easily able to vacuum dirt off of, as well as throw in a washing machine or something every once in a blue moon), while still being comfortable to walk on barefoot/with socks.

Any suggestions for a type of material and/or a style to look for? Appreciate any thoughts.
