A few months back me and my partner went to a local fertility clinic. I had a low sperm count. I was sent to a fertility doctor, and he decided I should have an mTESE — which was unsuccessful. I never sought a second opinion. We just got swept up in the process — we’re in our early 40s — and were looking for some clarity.
A couple weeks ago I went to see my PCP and described some symptoms and as part of my regular blood work (I’m a T2D), he added a testosterone screen. My levels came back low and I’m being sent to an endocrinologist.
A. I’m assuming I would’ve had a testosterone screen run as part of the mTESE screening, right? I honestly don’t remember mention of it, but again, we were rushing through things.
B. I’m assuming there’s a strong connection between low testosterone and low sperm count?
