Hair fall

I get a sort of hairfall problem whenever i use conditioner or shampoo on my hair. But otherwise not really. Whether I wash or just fix up my hair it doesn't get hairfall as bad. Maybe a couple fall off when I do those sometimes if they do but whenever I apply something to clean my head full of hair. I notice 18 hair strands start sticking to my hand. Is this normal? Or a sign of some wrong haircare? I have a full head of thick hair btw and only wash with products every 3 days minimum.
