I’m in the middle of growing back my hairline but I want to look good for my date

What should I do is there anyway I can get a line up without losing the progress so far. Tomorrow will make 20 days without a haircut I usually don’t ever go more than two weeks without one, I look horrible which is whatever but.....I have a date Wednesday and I don’t want to give off a bad impression. Any tips on preserving my hairline even with a line up? Like what should I tel my barber?
