Returning an ill fitting jacket after wearing it once

The other day I bought a suit jacket in a rush to wear it to a dinner event that night. It was an okay fitting suit jacket (Alfani red slim fit from Macy's), but I truly was not happy with that purchase.

After reading Macy's return policy "At Macy’s, we’re not happy until you’re happy. So we will accept for exchange or return merchandise that does not completely satisfy you.*

I want to return it. I keep getting the comments like I'm a thief or an evil person because it fits poorly on me. What do you think MFA?
