I just got a used leather jacket shipped to me, what can I do about a weird smell it's giving off?

I bought a leather jacket and a shirt of off sufu's buy/sell forum, and they both have an odd scent to them. I'm assuming that it's due to they way that they were shipped, it's kinda a hard smell to describe, but it's not like it's BO or from the guys house or anything. Anyways, it's not an issue with the shirt because it can be washed, but what should I do about the jacket? Thanks so much for your time!
