Condo Booking Fee

Hi all, recently I'm visiting several showrooms to buy a condo. I've placed booking fee for 2 showrooms but then decided to forfeit one of it (not even a week period). The agent doesn't respond to my request to refund the booking fee. Just now called the developer, I can only get my money back by issuing them the loan reject letter. My question is, if I hire a lawyer to do so, what's the cost? Also, since there's most likely I will prefer the first one, can I ask the lawyer there to issue the loan reject letter?
Thanks. I'm first home buyer and stupidly enough to place booking fee without thinking twice.
