The thing is, the verses become meaningless because they can be interpreted as figurative or literal or whatnot just to avoid them from becoming wrong...
For example, let say verse A is originally interpreted as literal. Then, after many research and studies, verse A was disproven.
Afterwards, scholars change the interpretation of verse A to figurative in attempt to 'save' it from getting falsified

What's flawed here is that you have already made the conclusion that Quranic verses are true, then work backward to justify with whatever reason (however figurative or far-fetched it might be)
