Hey, So I’m a traveler staying at a hostel in KL right now. Tonight at about 2 am I was abruptly woken up and some Malay people were invading the dorm room, checking everybody’s passports and taking pictures of them. Mostly females.

They introduced them as immigration officers , were wearing usual clothes , no uniform under only showed us some kind of badge. I literally could buy a badge like that from the internet.

They were very rude , impolite and aggressive. When I asked them what the f*ck is up, they said, they would have gotten a report about an Indonesian overstaying in Malaysia. They also only check one dorm room and not all of the 5 ones.

How legit is this? I never experienced something like that in any other Asian country and I have been to mostly any.

They have photos of our passports now and can abuse them actually. Also it just doesn’t make sense that they are looking for Indonesian people and checking western looking people’s passports and taking photos of them.
