I'm thinking of getting the Rode NT1 complete studio kit ($400 AUD) which includes:

- the Rode NT1 and Rode Ai-1 interface

I've read many good things about it in this sub/other forums but i've seen some people say it is not optimal for hip hop because it is a bit bright/sibilant. Is this true?

does anyone know of other alternatives in this price range? I've had a look at the AT4040 and the Shure sm7b, but for some reason these are $A600, and $A700 the cost of an interface here.

would it be worth swapping the Ai-1 interface for the better spec Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen?

I currently don't have room treatment but I will be able to buy some soon and will use makeshift blankets till then.
