Here's my situation, I think I have some interest in livestreaming. It looks a lot of fun! I really only want to stream for fun or as a hobby or to meet new friends to play games with. If by some struck of luck my streams catch on and people like them, great! But I don't really anticipate it. Either way it looks like a fun creative outlet for me to try. However, I have a few concerns that are holding me back and I don't want to do it if it's just going to be a disappointing experience.
My main concerns are:
What games I stream. I don't like a lot of the mainstream battle royal games. I play a lot of RPGs and sandbox type games. So I don't know if there's really an audience for that. Why would I want to stream if not even a single person is going to find my stream. I've been playing a lot of The Division 2, Snowrunner, and I've been trying to get back into The Elder Scrolls Online. So maybe there's an audience there.
People, I've seen 4Chan raids streams and I know people are really just kinda mean. I wanted to stream with a face cam but I've also got self confidence issues. I figured if I just roll with the punches and own my flaws and make something fun of it, it might help me.
And lastly, the overall quality of my stream. I really don't want to do a stream that looks and sounds like garbage. I'll stream from my PS4 but I only have the PS Camera for a Facecam and a cheap chinese headset I got on amazon. I've used the mic to make a Youtube video and it wasn't terrible, but definitely ameture as hell.
So with all this said, are my concerns even an issue I should worry about, or is my anxiety getting the best of me? Should I start streaming for fun, or just leave it to the pros?
