Trying something new
Post Body

I'm currently in HVAC install but as an apprentice. Mostly in residential and every now and then in commercial. I have actually learned a lot here in install for the past 4 years. The company is actually trying to make me a lead at least in less than a year. The only problem is that even though becoming a lead might make me more money... I still see the current leads stressing every day about jobs being to much or to little, salesmen doing poor ordering, and every now and then about pay and etc. I also am kind of getting tired of not knowing what time I get off from work. I have missed so many appointments, special events, family gatherings and even things like going to concerts and sports game. Especially when like fall and winter comes around... while it's nice taking a break from a long, hard, and hot summer, the income really sucks and makes me having to do some side jobs which I really hate to do. At this point I'm starting to feel a burnout from it. Recently, I talked to a few of my buddies and they have recommended that I go do maintenance in industrial which starting is $35 an hour and guaranteed 40 hours whole year. They also mentioned that they don't do much other than do some emails here and there and only get called every now and then to fix the machines. So I'm so tempted to go and do that, knowing what time I'll be off and have more time management. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this. Would it be a good choice to do? Should I stay a little longer? Should I go in a different direction?
