Is it unethical to own a purebred cat?

Post Body

That’s probably a very controversial question but I just wanted to know with all the stray and ownerless cats in the shelters if it’s even ethical to buy a cat from a breeder. Granted of course that the breeder takes good care and the kitties don’t have any genetic diseases or anything of the likes.

I’m just blaming myself that maybe there’s a cat in the shelter waiting for me when I am being selfish by choosing a purebred cat instead. Just because I want a specific breed
