Verses 1-36

Ramayana as we know it was said by Valmiki ji in 24 thousand verses. In 500 chapters and 6 books. The scheming of this great epic is based on the Gayatri hymn. This was so huge that the sage got worried about who will be reading/singing this. Here we are introduced to Luva and Kusha. Both these boys are described to have a melodius voice and be proficient in Vedas. The rishi chose them to sing the Ramayana and made them memorize this epic. The sage rendered the epic in the name of Ramayana, Sublime Legend of Sita and Elimination of Ravana. The two brothers after memorizing the epic started singing this in the gathering of pious souls and sages. They sang so beautifully that the sages used to get overwhelmed with all kind of emotions. They appreciated the kingly hermits with all kind of gifts. Soon their praises were heard by Lord Rama, the king then, who invited the boys to his court to sing the epic. He gathered all the ministers and brothers to hear the epic.

Guys Sarga 1 to Sarga 4 were kind of preface to the whole epic. Starting tomorow we will dive inside the epic. Stay tuned!
