Magic the Gathering Two-Headed Giant

They recently started this way to play Magic at my local store, and i am not really sure how it works. Can players work off teammates creatures? do you go as a team or one at a time? do you each have 20 life or combined 40? how does infect work in this style of play? just any thing that can help me understand in simple terms would be highly appreciated!
