Hi people,
I'm trying to build a casual Boros deck using old and new human soldiers, and I have two questions.
1) This one is probably obvious, but I'm still not sure. If I have both the new Tajic [[Tajic, Legion's Edge]], and the old one [[Tajic, Blade of the Legion]], can I have both cards on the battlefield at the same time? Or is still the same guy, and so the "one dude only" rule would make me sacrifice one of them, if both enter the play?
2) Imagine that you have one of the older cards with Battalion mechanics, and a new card with Mentor mechanic. Say, new [[Tajic, Legion's Edge]] and two old [[Boros Elite]]. They all attack. Tajic is 3/2, so it can only mentor creatures with power 2 or less. Elite is nominally a 1/1, but when it attacks in a group of 3 or more, it becomes a 3/3.
So what happens first? Because if Mentoring happens first, then 1/1 becomes 2/2, and then it gets 2/2 and grows into a 4/4. But it Battalion happens first, then it becomes 3/3 and mentoring cannot happen.
And generally, for questions like that, how to tell which event would trigger first?
Thanks!
