Think about it. How many standard players that you know don't play modern because it's "too expensive"? They're right. Decks are at an 18% increase in price from last year. Or maybe they say "There are too many cards to choose from"? They're also right. Modern stretched from Eighth Edition up. This was not a problem when I first started playing modern in 2012, as there were only 38 sets to choose from. There are about 60 sets available in modern today, totaling about 11947 individual cards! Compare this to the Legacy sets, there are 37 of the old sets before Eighth edition.
Enter Frontier, a format that uses all cards from M15 and above. Here are some pros about it.
Cheap: Average Deck price: 300-500 USD.
Almost no meta: Since this format is mainly a casual one (for now) there is really no set meta for it.
The Cons:
No ban list (yet): since this is a somewhat obscure format, there is no official ban list. I believe that it should utilize all standard bannings, present and future.

I strongly believe this is a great alternative to modern and could actually get some more standard players to play eternal formats. What do you think?
Edit: Thanks for the feedback! I honestly like some of the points you all made. I havenโt really thought it through, so I appreciate all of the feedback, negative or not. Though, I never meant to say that it was an alternative to modern, but an intro to eternal formats, kind of like a warm up to modern.
