So I've been an avid player of a lot of card games but I've always found Magic to be the one game that seemed too complicated for me. After all my much older brother had been playing since he was a kid - how could I just pick the game up now and learn it?
Well a good friend of mine got me interested enough to invest in my first pack - a fat pack to be clear. I wanted to see if I could make a deck and apparently the fat pack came with enough cards to make one or two rough beginner decks. So I ordered my cards and in they came today.
Now I've sat down and opened everything up (best part of the haul to my knowledge was a foil uncommon and a dual-sided Chandra) and I wanted to know - where should I start? I'll be attending a FNM event near my university in a couple days in an attempt to learn as much as possible and I've already sleeved everything. I've also tried to make two decks - both midranged. A blue/red and a green/black. I know I'm not going to be appearing in any tournaments soon - but I was wondering if I could be offered any guidance on next steps as I can honestly say I'm hooked.
Thanks so much!
P.S. Sorry for awful formatting where applicable - I don't reddit often.
