This deck was originally inspired by Prophet of Kruphix. It was not intended to be competitive until I saw the advantage it had over certain top tier decks.

The premise of the deck was inspired by a TCGPlayer article I read about a UG Flash deck. That was prior to Journey into Nyx and has been updated up to M15. Every single card (save lands) could be cast at instant speed. I loved the idea, as I have always been a control player, and thought it would be fun to switch it up and play the tempo game.

A lot of Theros gave me some good flash options in UG. Albeit a little expensive, like Horizon Chimera and Fleetfeather Cockatrice, but with the right amount of control and mana ramp, I've made them pretty amazing. Here is the list:

2 Temple of Mystery

4 Simic Guildgate

9 Forest

9 Island

3 Skylasher

2 Cloudfin Raptor

4 Shambleshark

1 Simic Charm

1 Cyclonic Rift

4 Boon Satyr

4 Dissolve

3 Briarpack Alpha

3 Horizon Chimera

2 Prophet of Kruphix

2 Fleetfeather Cockatrice

1 Jace's Ingenuity

2 Syncopate

4 Elvish Mystic

SB: 1 Voyage's End

SB: 1 Turn to Frog

SB: 2 Naturalize

SB: 2 Gainsay

SB: 2 Mistcutter Hydra

SB: 1 Skylasher

SB: 2 Negate

SB: 2 Fog

SB: 2 Essence Scatter

If you haven't noticed yet, control decks absolutely hate this deck. Aside from the amount of "protection from blue" and "can't be countered" available, we also force the control deck to play on their own turn, rather than the other way around. This puts me in a unique position to be controlling the control deck. Detention Sphere and Supreme Verdict are a lot less powerful when I can usually make a threat appear again after you've casted them. This same logic helps us with Rakdos Control or Monoblack splashing red. Dreadbores and Rakdos Control's are a lot less effective.

This deck also has a distinct advantage against certain kinds of aggro decks. With the flash ability of the creatures, aggro players will be swinging into what seems to be an empty or weak field, and suddenly be surprised by a Briarpack Alpha and losing tempo, as well as leaving me room to counterattack.

So the point of me posting this is that this deck is just not strong enough. Now I already know one obvious thing I need to fix, which is my manabase. I need the full or at least most of the duals offered in my color, I just don't physically own them at this time.

Other than that, do you guys have any suggestions? I am terrible at managing my mana curves and things like that. I also am on Cockatrice if anybody is curious about this deck and wants to play it.

I'm already considering some polymorphists jests for the sideboard. Can anybody else help me finetune this? Also suggestions for a post-RTR version of this deck would be great as well.

Note: I posted this in other magic subreddits too, I really want people to see U/G flash and hope to see it get some real competitive play.
