I want to build a deck that's "mirror" themed. Stealing/duplicating creatures, copying/redirecting spells. Those two are easy. The problem is in damage. If I make copies or clones of other creatures, they aren't going to get any buffs from enchantments, counters, other spells the opponent might play. At best, I wind up blocking with a a copy and wipe out their creature as well as mine.
What I want are some ways to reflect/redirect damage. "Prevent all/x damage, target player/creature takes damage equal to damage prevented". Or an enchantment, "Add a counter for each damage prevented. Remove a counter, deal 1 damage to target". I could use Fogs effects with something like that, to build up counters, or something.
I'm not sure. I get the feeling damage redirection isn't something that has a lot of ground covered in M:TG yet, but any suggestions anyone has are welcome.
