S3 Betty has an amazing 'good for her' arc
Post Body

I just finished S3 (its like my 8th rewatch) and this time it really stood out to me that S3 is really Betty's season- so much happens to her plot-wise but also in her overall transformation as a character who is naïve and extremely passive to worldly and very much an active participant in her own life.

One of major things I noticed was how skillfully she pulled off her separation and divorce from Don, using his inattention to her advantage. The way she patiently and quietly builds an exit plan over the course of the latter half of the season shows how cunning she's become. When it comes time to pull the trigger, she does so extremely deftly- I don't love you any more, we will be divorcing, let's try to be civil about this- and never wavers. Masterful grey rocking. With Don caught completely off guard, she had the upper hand in negotiations.

I just couldn't help but cheer her on this time around. Its Betty at her bravest, strongest and most intelligent. I also like how she does everything in a very dignified manner, refusing to sink to Don's level on several occasions.
