Piggybacking off a thread I saw earlier - reading that thread got me thinking about how John Lennon was a better father to his youngest son Sean than he was to his older son Julian as he cared more for Sean’s mother Yoko than he did for Julian’s mother Cynthia, and was older by that point.
We do see that Don has a relationship with Sally, although he later on “scandalizes” her and is not really a good father to any of his children. He starts to cheat on Megan later on like he did on Betty, and I really do think he and Megan would have divorced no matter what, but I wonder if you think he’d have seen he and Megan having a child as being a chance to become a “better man” (I can just envision Don believing some nonsense like that, lol.) It’s also interesting to imagine because it’d mean he’d technically have four children to take care of instead of three, meaning he’d also have likely had less money.
I think that Don was never going to be a “good father” truly in general, so when I say “better father” I suppose I mean more attentive and involved.
