Anyone else experience issues with their '21 MBP MagSafe cable?

Out of nowhere my MagSafe cable started blinking amber when plugged in to my MBP (M1M 16). I can still charge through the USB-C ports, but it's annoying. I did some googling and found that this is something of a common issue. Has anyone sorted out a fix beyond just having the cable replaced? How is it the cable that causes this issue anyway??
