Help with Color

Hello,
I have been struggling with getting bold colors in my macarons, specifically red. I use masterchef brand liquid food coloring. Every time I use deep red I end up with pink, I usually just use 2 drops as suggested by most recipes but should I just add more food coloring? Any advice would help, was wondering if maybe I needed white food dye to make the red stand out. Really tired of pink colored when I need red lol.
