I'm a graphic designer mostly using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and some light work in After Effects. During this quarantine I ended up building a PC because my iMac has been slowly deteriorating. It feels sluggish, Finder constantly freezes, the Adobe apps freeze, and for some reason some of them just crash when opening.
I thought I would fully migrate to my PC and solve all my problems, but I'm too far deep into the Apple ecosystem to leave it. The convenience of a built in webcam and mic, the ability to airdrop, and use messages has stopped me from fully commiting to a PC. So I'm looking for advice on what I shoud do.
I'm curious if I upgrade my RAM will that solve some of the sluggishness and crashing. Or would I be better off investing in a Mac Mini to do the light design work and using the PC for the real heavy lifting. I even thought about trying to build a Hackintosh as a solution.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I have a late 2015, 27" iMac
2.2 GHz i5 processor
24gb of Ram
