Help getting my macbook pro to run right when I plug in the charger.

I have a 15" macbook pro from 2007, model number A1226, and I've been having this really annoying problem where it it needs a minimum charge before it can run, or in other words, it just won't run right off the ac and I don't know why. I will run my computer till the battery is dead, and then when I immediately plug it in, I have to wait for 15 minutes for it to charge before it will start up again. I've replaced my battery, and it's had no effect. I've gotten a new charger. Two of them. And still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
