Help with using USB Keyboard and Mouse

I'm using a MBP on a stand connected to a monitor and I also have a PC so I use the same USB keyboard and mouse and just switch the USB dongle depending on whichever one I'm using.

It's a logitech combo and on PC there's no problem with fluidity but when I connect it to my macbook the mouse and keyboard both kind of stutter and just don't work properly. (ie type something on keyboard and it takes 3 seconds before they all show up at once, mouse not moving smoothly)

It's definitely not the batteries because I'm using it with my PC no problem.

Also it seems like it gets worse if I'm using a lot of CPU.

Is there something that I could download or mess around in the preferences to make this problem go away?
