Hi looking for some advice.
My current mac http://imgur.com/RWldczv is running out of life so I want a new mac. I want to understand the value of the different hardware options that are currently available. I want the latest technology because I think it delivers the most value over a longer lifetime but I don't want to choose the top options if they won't deliver performance value. So I'm looking for the top options in terms of performance without any overkill.
I'm also unclear as to whether the hardware in the iMac (4.0GHz i7 and 32gb ram) would be of value to me and whether just buying a screen in addition to a macbook pro would be equivalent for my purposes.
I work with illustrator, photoshop, blender, processing, and unity game development. No movie editing and infrequent full screen tv/movie watching/streaming unless connected to a tv.
Ive configured and compared two macs -- an iMac and a macbook pro both with the best options: http://imgur.com/cQcB71x
Any advice or guidance is much appreciated! Thanks
