Issues with my Macbook trackpad-- double clicking doesn't open anything up, but right clicking and selecting open from the drop down menu does. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!! (no applecare left)
Post Body

I have been searching and searching for an answer to this problem but to no avail... so I figured I would try the legion of reddit.

I have a 2011 macbook pro. I have been having an issue when I try to open things, whether it be a program, or a link on line, you name it. Basically, when I click twice on anything, it wont open. It will show that it has been selected, but when I click it the second time it doesnt open. However, if i press down with both fingers at once (right click), I do have the option to open whatever I want to open and I can open it that way.

Im not sure how confusing this is for whomever is reading this. To explain it as simply as possible, I cannot open things with my trackpad unless I press down with two fingers and open it via right clicking ---I want to be able to press down twice and open things normally without having to right click. I am hoping this is an issue with system preferences and not an issue with my trackpad this will essentially be impossible to fix without dishing out a few hundred dollars. So reddit, please deliver me the good word! I love you all for even reading this and spreading the love. I promise I will pay it forward. Rock on
