I wake up at 6am, get ready to drive from 6:30-10am every day (hardly any rides), then I go to work from 12-9pm. I’ll see if I can pick up a Lyft ride after work but it’s better I not. I’m legally blind and it’s bad in the darkness lol. So at first I got the Lyft rental because it was convenient and I thought I could make money. They never told me I was only getting 30% out of each of my rides while Lyft kept 70% since I was using their car. They only told me I’d be charged $260/weekly bc of the car, and the full coverage insurance random other sht that sometimes pops out. If they would’ve told me from the get go I would’ve have even signed up for it. So I make maybe $20 a day before work, and on my two days off I do Lyft all 12 hours. Yday I made $124 and today I drove earlier for three almost four hrs and I made $54. I need about $30 to completely pay off for this week. I don’t even make any money at this point. I just am using a car until I can buy myself a car w/ my new job. It pays well, and I’m so grateful I got the job. My fifth week starts on Sunday, and my payday is Thursday, so woohoo! 🥳 I’m still 9 months sober this August the 1st. Everything is coming to me thank you God. To anyone looking to rent out a car with Lyft, it seems all dandy at first. But then shxt hits the cieling after the first week. Hopefully I’m able to get a car with $1,000 down!!! I’ll post a post one of these days just how everything started to change with me. I’m truly grateful. 🥲 but yeah guys! I really can’t wait to buy my first car ever on my own!!! I previously had 3, but I total’d them and a vehicle of my sister; although I don’t remember that one, but apparently I did. Everyone in the fam knows about it, but me. What a mess I was. So yeah, Lyft should let the people who are renting make that 50/50 split. It’s only fair, if I am going to be paying $260/week to use their car, it’s absolutely hysterical. It’s so hard to get that when all your rides are only $3-$6. Man you’re lucky 🍀 if you get anything over a $10 ride. I took a man from the airport to New Braunfels! A whole dif city! For $18, I was so happy not even realizing the whole scenario. So I pick him up; the man is just bragging about how he just came from Paris “but it’s not like I’m rich” he kept saying it every time he would speak of money. Finally he tells me out of the blue “don’t worry ima tip you because I know it’s so far from S.A. and thank you for bringing me, I know you won’t get any rides out here” thanked him and said goodbye. Boooyy. I did not even want to wait for a ride there, as if I’d get one. It was a 45 min drive back to corpus, I was low on gas! 😂 I was a mess y’all. I actually was so upset, I said “I’m going to that w Lyft and make sure they know this is a problem. Long story short; the guy NEVER tipped me! So the ride was actually $15, but since it was one of those incentives, like 20% extra, it was plus 3. So it was $18 like that. Eighteen dollars to get out of town from the airport to NB, then to be in NB, with 50 miles til empty, had to drive back to SA. How unfair is that? Long story short again, I contacted Lyft. First agent was a jerk, and could care less honestly. Another rep. Messaged me out of the blue, as started as I was I was joyed reading her message of concern and caring for all her customers. She said she was going to look into this as I had explained the situation, letting her know I’m renting a Lyft so I only make 30% of rides!!! 😂 she messaged me after everything saying she was able to add $6 to my account bc of my situation. She truly was an angel. She had made my night a lot better, even though it’d only six dollars it’s the fact of the matter that she did all that just to help me, ykno? So a for that, Lyft. Aside from that they always fail me for everything. Lol
