This might be lengthy so bear with me.
I started driving December 2023 and it was just a few weeks after when I experienced Lyft's highway robbery. Yes, we ALL agreed to the terms of service because ultimately we need whatever $$ we can get. But earning only $146 on a ride where the passenger is being charged anywhere between $500-600 is RIDICULOUS and an insult!
*Edit: I did not accept that ride. I was new but not naive.
It's our cars, our time, our gas. Lyft corporate does not care. Lyft corporate likely has no clue what goes on in the field: beyond crappy navigation system, unfair pay, unfair ratings toward drivers, beyond poor customer service, a flawed rating system which does not allow us to defend ourselves EVEN IF we have dashcam footage to prove our case.
It is US who do the work and provide Lyft with profits. Our gas, our wear & tear, our mileage, our mental & physical exhaustion.
In an ideal world we would be able to organize in some way in order to send a clear message to Lyft's executive team, but we are faced with communication, linguistic, and logistical barriers.
For the time being my only solution is to bring awareness via social media tagging news agencies (local TV stations, and cable outlets - u/CNN, u/Foxnews, u/ABCnews, u/cbsnews, u/nbcnews, u/NPR, etc).
