I have a fondness of Part 1 & 2 for several reasons:

- It’s my favorite rendition (visually) of Jigen (Part 2).

- The time Part 2 was originally aired in, early/mid 70s, well I was just a pre-teenager back then. The only Anime that I know of that made it to the states during that period was Speed Racer but me and my young friends never missed an episode of Speed Racer. Lupin is, overall, completely different than Speed Racer but there’s some nostalgia in there for me.

- It reminds me of all the classic toons of the period, especially Scooby Doo, Pink Panther, Josie & the Pussycats, and Dynomutt/Dog Wonder. But how you may ask? None of those are anime… true but those classics do share the same limited color palette that was available to cartoon artists at the time. And reso was 480p back then, (and sometimes not that). So, Parts 1 & 2 take me back to a simpler, youthful time.
