(Late 20s) Found a circular 3.9cm lung mass in a x ray scan checking if I had fluid in my lungs post-covid (no fluid, mass obviously unrelated to covid). I have appointments with doctors for next week. I am in my late 20s, no history of smoking.
Iām going to see a pulmonary doctor Monday and try to get a referral to see a thoracic surgeon at a place that specializes in lung cancer. I have the ability to Google things and realize that this size most likely correlated with cancer, in addition to the urgent care doctor also telling me this. I have no symptoms yet (just post-covid symptoms).
I have been feeling very hopeless and like I need to be preparing for death. Please, if you have any personal stories or resources to link to I would appreciate it. I would like to know if there is any hope for my situation and what I should be focusing my energies toward.
EDIT: Thank you so much everyone. I have seen many doctors and have undergone a lot of tests, scans, second opinions, and my lung mass is not cancerous! It was through these comments that I was able to stay calm and get through these past few weeks. I am relieved and exhausted. I will continue to be monitored to make sure that nothing changes, but for now I am all good. And I know the avenues to go through to get treatment in the future. Thank you!
